Pedigree of Val Byrne based on DNA 67 marker tests 17 Aug 2013
According to a DNA test ( 25 marker ) in 2005 Val Byrne and Michael A. Byrne of Iowa shared the same ancestor 24 generations ago, possibly Lorcan mc Philip mc Ragnall 1218. Michael's paper trail traces back to Anthony O'Byrne of Rathangan, originally from Ballinakill, Clonmore, Co. Carlow. Sources prior to 1450 should not be taken as definite primogeniture descendency but as descended from the family of the named person listed in the recognized published annals of Byrne pedigrees.
